1964 Alabama State Fair

The 1964 Alabama State Fair was held October 5-10, 1964 at the Alabama State Fairgrounds.

The fair was highlighted by agricultural, home furnishings, and industrial exhibits. On the grandstand, crowds were treated to the crowning of the Maid of Cotton, and the Broadway-style chorus troupe, the Manhattan Rockets. Other entertainments included the Brandywine Singers, Cuneo's Horse Fantasy Revue, Pat Woodell of Petticoat Junction, and a nightly fireworks show.

Auto races were held at the fairgrounds race track throughout the fair. Missiles and rockets from Redstone Arsenal were displayed alongside the "Mile-Long Midway".
