The 2009 Stars Fell on Alabama Nationals was the National Forensic League's 2009 national high school debate tournament, hosted by Deep South Debate in the Birmingham area from June 13-20, 2009. Approximately 3,500 students competed in the event.

The event began with registration at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel. The tournament's opening ceremony took place at Samford University's Leslie S. Wright Fine Arts Center.

The schedule of policy, public forum and Lincoln-Douglas debate events began on June 15 at Oak Mountain High School, Spain Park High School and Berry Middle School. Debate finals took place at the BJCC Concert Hall on June 18. A separate track of speech events took place at Oak Mountain High School, Spain Park High School, Our Lady of the Valley School, and Briarwood Christian School, also with finals at the BJCC.

Additional events included a party at the McWane Science Center and the Alabama Theatre featuring performances by comedian Jen Kober and improvisational troupe the Statues of Liberty.
