The 2017 Hayden plane crash was a fatal aviation accident that occurred near Culwell Road off of Alabama State Highway 160 northeast of Hayden on March 26, 2017.

The 1984 Cessna T210L "Centurion" single engine aircraft was piloted by Joseph Crenshaw of Jackson, Tennessee and carrying his wife, Jennifer, and two children: Jacob and Jillian. They were returning home from a spring break vacation in Florida, having left from Kissimmee Gateway Airport that morning. The aircraft apparently broke up in the air, with parts found up to a mile from the eventual wreck of the fuselage. The Birmingham airport tower received a brief mayday call, but was unable to maintain radio contact.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
