The 2018 Birmingham Barons was the sixth Barons team to play in downtown Birmingham's Regions Field. The season marked the Logan family's 12th season as team owners and the team's 32rd season as a Chicago White Sox AA affiliate. They played in the North division of the Southern League along with the Chattanooga Lookouts, Jackson Generals, Montgomery Biscuits and Tennessee Smokies.
Field manager Julio Vinas, hitting coach Cole Armstrong, and strength & conditioning coach Tim Rodmaker all returned to the staff, joined by new pitching coach Richard Dotson and trainer Cory Barton.
