2019 UAB Blazers football team

The 2019 UAB Blazers played the 27th season of football for UAB, their 21st in Division I-A, and their 18th as a member of Conference USA. The team was coached by Bill Clark, in his fourth season as head coach, not including two years that the program was on hiatus.

The team was led by sophomore running back Spencer Brown and senior quarterback A. J. Erdely. Other standouts included senior tight end Logan Scott, senior linebacker Craig Kanyangarara, and junior center Lee Dufour.

Results (9-5)

  • August 29: Defeated Alabama State Hornets 24-19 at Legion Field.
  • September 7: Defeated the Akron Zips 31-20 at InfoCision Stadium in Akron, Ohio.
  • September 21: Defeated the South Alabama Jaguars 35-3 at Legion Field.
  • September 28: Lost to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 13-20 at Houchens Industries - L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
  • October 5: Defeated the Rice Owls 35-20 at Legion Field.
  • October 12: Defeated the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners 33-14 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
  • October 19: Defeated the Old Dominion Monarchs 38-14 at Legion Field.
  • November 2: Lost to the Tennessee Volunteers 30-7 at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.
  • November 9: Lost to the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles 37-2 at Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
  • November 16: Defeated the Texas-El Paso Miners 37-10 at Legion Field.
  • November 23: Defeated the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 20-14 at Legion Field.
  • November 30: Defeated the North Texas Mean Green 26-21 at Apogee Stadium in Denton, Texas.
  • December 2: Lost to the Florida Atlantic Owls 49-6 at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida.
  • December 21: Lost to the Appalachian State University Mountaineers of the Sun Belt Conference 17-31 in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
