The 2020 Alabama State Fair was a privately-operated carnival held September 18-27, 2020 at the Birmingham Race Course. Since 2008 the annual event has been put on by the Cordova, Tennessee-based Universal Fairs.

The fair was put on despite social-distancing guidelines issued during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic. The operator advertised a number of specific guidelines, including temperature checks and mandatory face coverings.

Attractions at the fair included exotic animal displays, a petting zoo, comedy and magic shows, carnival rides and vendors.

A fight between teenage patrons led the event to close early on Saturday, September 19. The dispute was resumed later at the Elyton Village public housing project, resulting in the shooting death of a bystander.
