Abraham Lincoln Republican Club

The Abraham Lincoln Republican Club was a political organization formed in 1955 by a group of African-American attorneys and citizens. It aimed to promote Republican policy programs in Birmingham and held an annual "Lincoln Day Banquet" at the Savoy Cafe. In its first year, Oscar Adams Jr served as president and Clyde Johnson as secretary and Molton Gray as treasurer. The executive committee was chaired by Dr G. P. Parham.

Other founding members of the club included Thomas Hurt, Hobart Oden Jr, H. N. Guinn, Benjamin Moore, Thomas Owens, James Johnson, Burns Cassell, and Frank Hunter.
