Abyssinia Baptist Church is located at 2301 Avenue E in Ensley. It was established in 1929 and previously located at 1501 Avenue L.

Because of its role in the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights during the pastorate of Louree R. Jackson, it was recognized as a "movement church" by the Birmingham Historical Society.

The church moved to its present location after buying it from Ensley Baptist Church in 2005. Its former location on Avenue L was taken over by Greater New Beginning Apostolic Church.
