The Alabama Bakery Company was founded in January 1906 by Jim Gatoras, George Gatoras, Nick Vraitis, George Pappageorge, Leonidas Pappageorge, and Nick Derzis. Jim Gatoras served as president, with Peter Govatos as vice-president, Leonidas Pappageorge]] as secretary and Dick Derzis as treasurer and general manager.
