The Alabama Poverty Project (APP) is a non-profit organization which promotes a better understanding of the causes, conditions and effects of poverty across Alabama. It was founded in 1993 by Wilford Bailey, Wayne Flynt, Eulene Hawkins and Earl Potts. The executive director since October 2006 is Nick Foster.

APP supports formal academic research on poverty in the state and reports to the general public as well as to public officials, opinion makers, and interested organizations. The group promotes economic justice initiatives through education and links various organizations involved in the issue. As part of its mission the group publishes an interactive database of poverty statistics and maps on its website, as well as a print version for distribution.
