The Alabama Press Association (APA) is a trade association representing daily and weekly newspapers in Alabama. It was founded in 1871.

The APA Journalism Foundation was established by the association in 1968 to support journalism education through grants, scholarships and summer internships. The group recognizes outstanding members of the press through its APA Hall of Honor program, housed in Auburn University's Ralph Brown Draughon Library.

In 1993 the organization moved into a building owned by the APA Journalism Foundation at 3324 Independence Drive in Homewood. That building was sold in 2019 and the APA leased space in the Shelby Building at 600 Vestavia Parkway in Vestavia Hills

In 2023 the group relocated its offices to 2180 Parkway Lake Drive, sharing space with the Alabama Broadcasters Association.
