Alberto Chiesa

Alberto Edgardo Chiesa (born July 28, 1939 in Montevideo, Uruguay; died March 30, 2015 in Birmingham) was an architect.

Chiesa, the son of Alberto and Ema Gonzalez Chiesa of Uruguay, graduated from the Auburn University School of Architecture. He founded his own firm in 1975 with offices at 401 Office Park Drive and later at 600 Lakeshore Drive.

Chiesa's local work included renovations of the former Fifth Quarter steakhouse for Culinard's "195 Mizan Plaz," and the adaptive reuse of a historic building for Adamson Ford, for which he won a Preservation Award from the Birmingham Historical Society.

Chiesa was married to the former Rita Burkhardt and had three children and four grandchildren.
