American Recycling of Alabama was a recycling company located at 5751 Durose Drive off Powder Plant Road in Bessemer. It was incorporated in 1997 and handled collection and sorting of recyclables for UAB and also collected scrap metals and other materials at its facility. George Nicholson was general manager. The company was purchased by Waste Pro of Longwood, Florida in 2008.
