The Bass Cemetery is a historic cemetery located off of Ruffner Road in Irondale. The earliest burials are those of Revolutionary War veteran Burrell Bass and his wife Elizabeth (died 1831 and 1837, respectively). Among the graves are those of Civil War veterans Richard Bass, William Ellard, Thomas Ferguson, John Godwin, and Jordan Goodwin.

Bass Cemetery, isolated in a wooded area near the Norris Yards, has attracted both ghost hunters, thrill-seekers and vandals for decades. Sections of the cemetery are well-maintained, but numerous stones have been damaged and parts of the site are often littered. Recently some of the older markers have been destroyed.
