Benny LaRussa

Benny LaRussa Sr (born in Birmingham) is the owner of the Jack's restaurant chain.

LaRussa graduated from John Carroll Catholic High School and went to work for the Bruno's grocery store chain, rising from store manager to corporate executive. Shortly after Jack Caddell opened the first Jack's in Homewood, LaRussa launched a franchise in Dora. In 1979 LaRussa retired from Bruno's and bought 13 more franchise locations. Ten years later he bought the entire chain from owners Dick Reese and Don Ghareeb.

LaRussa also supplies Jack's and many area Subway restaurants from his Southeastern Food Merchandisers wholesale grocery business.

LaRussa and his wife, Anne, have five children, fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
