Birmingham Fire Station No. 27

Birmingham Fire Station No. 27 is located at 401 Huffman Road at the intersection with Self Road. It was built in the mid-1950s and serves the Roebuck and Huffman areas.

In 1960 the station was equipped with a 1938 Seagrave pumper truck with a 750-gallon capacity. A second 750-gallon pump truck was kept there on a reserve basis.

In June 2019 the station was temporarily closed to investigate complaints about interior air quality. Bhate Environmental Services surveyed the building and found no problems with mold or contaminants. As a precautionary measure, the city planned to conduct a "deep cleaning" of the station, to remove materials that may contain asbestos, and to make other upgrades to ventilation.
