The Birminghamster is a news parody website covering the Birmingham region with satirical stories. Published anonymously, it debuted on May 10, 2000 and was updated about every two weeks for a few years. More recently updates have been sporadic.
In addition to fake news (similar to The Onion), the site has a small section of made-up classifieds and a page listing selected comments sent through its "contact" form. The Birminghamster also sends an e-mail update with a "bonus" story to subscribers when a new issue is published.
