Bluewave Technologies (formerly Blue Ocean Technologies) was a startup company that provided voice over internet protocol (VOIP) telephony and data management and security services to businesses. It was founded in 2006 by Bill Pautler and Steve Guthrie and is housed at the Innovation Depot in downtown Birmingham.

When the company wanted to commission a new logo design in January 2010, Pautler worked with UAB art and art history professor Erin Wright to make it into a class project. Jordan Morrow submitted the winning design, featuring a stylized orange wave leaping out of a blue box.

Bluewave was acquired by the Kotter Group of Lilburn, Georgia in 2018.
