Brenda Renz

Brenda Renz (born in Lipscomb) is the Mayor of Lipscomb, having defeated incumbent Lance McDade in the 2016 municipal election.

Renz was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Lipscomb City Council by Governor Bob Riley in March 2008. She was one of the founding members of the Lipscomb City Coalition which had begun meeting in August 2007 to discuss ways to improve the city. She was reelected to her council seat in 2012 and served as Mayor Pro Tem. She successfully challenged McDade for the mayor's seat four years later, winning the race by 219 to 48 votes.
