Buster

Buster (born December 24, 1989 in Powell, Ohio - died August 7, 2006 in Birmingham) was a male cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) on exhibit at the Birmingham Zoo.

Born at the Columbus Zoo in Powell, Ohio, Buster was transfered to the Cincinnati Zoo in December 1990 but returned to the Columbus Zoo in October 1991. In April 1993 he was moved briefly to Rochester, New York's Seneca Park Zoo, then returned again to Columbus in September of the same year. A month later he made his trip to Birmingham where he lived for another 13 years. At the time of his death he was the oldest male of his species living in captivity.
