Hattie Butler Elementary School, formerly Avondale Colored School or Avondale Negro Elementary School was an elementary school operated by Birmingham City Schools at the corner of 3rd Avenue South and 48th Street in the East Avondale neighborhood.

The school was later renamed for Hattie Butler, who taught at Slater School in the 1900s and served as principal of Avondale Colored School in the 1920s and 1930s.

The site of the former school was subdivided for detached houses and was the site of Habitat for Humanity Greater Birmingham's 2008 Home Builders Blitz.
