I'm not sure if this strategy will hold up, but I'm thinking that addresses on "Decatur Highway" are probably on a different system than addresses on "Montgomery Highway" and I'm still enamored of using category sort to generate a rough diagram of how businesses are distributed geographically (rather than alphabetically). --Dystopos 16:27, 30 January 2007 (PST)

  • I just wish there was a way to do it more like blocks... instead of "3" for Funtime Skate Center it should be 35. That way you could really see how they line up, block by block. If an establishment is at 310 Decatur Highway, it will be sorted next to businesses at 3101, 3356, 3541 etc., and that isn't a true picture of how they line up. --Wheresdib 20:00, 30 January 2007 (PST)
  • Which is why I prefer the "alphatbetical in category, address on street entry" method (c.f. Category:3rd Avenue North, and 3rd Avenue North). Categories were never designed to sort on anything but alphabetical order. --Lkseitz 05:11, 31 January 2007 (PST)
  • On Wikipedia, various categories have been "redesigned" with different TOCs to sort more finely. I have a feeling that even if a satisfactory display is beyond my knowledge, it is not beyond possibility. --Dystopos 05:43, 31 January 2007 (PST)
