Dana Gresham

Dana Gresham (born c. 1971 in Birmingham) is the chief of staff for U.S. Senator Doug Jones. He was formerly chief of staff for Representative Artur Davis from 2003 to 2008, and served as Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation from 2009 to 2017.

Gresham grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Parker High School in 1989. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1994. He began his career as a staff assistant for North Carolina representative Eva Clayton, and was promoted to legislative assistant after a little more than a year. In 1997 he moved into the same position for Alabama representative Bud Cramer. He was promoted to legislative director in Cramer's office in 1999, and then was named to head the staff of incoming Representative Artur Davis in 2003.

Gresham was appointed to his post at the Department of Transportation by President Barack Obama in 2009.
