Dana Woodruff

Dana Clark Woodruff (born October 10, 1984), known as Lady Woo on radio, is a licensed family and marriage counselor and former host of the long-running Sunday evening radio program "Vital" on 95.7 JAMZ WBHJ-FM. In February 2020 she moved her radio program to V94.9 WATV-FM.

Woodruff, the daughter of a pastor and a social worker, grew up in Ensley and Huffman. She graduated from Huffman High School in 2002 and began her radio career in 2005.

Woodruff has worked with the Urban League and promoted her See Her Empowered (S.H.E.) programs through her own Essence Productions.

Woodruff earned a master’s of education in counseling at the University of Montevallo in 2017. She began working as a mental and behavioral health coordinator for The Dannon Project in 2018 and founded her own practice, Vital Life Family Counseling the same year.

In 2023 Woodruff was appointed to the Birmingham Public Library Board.
