David Odaibo

David Gbodi Odaibo (born January 9, 1979 in Ilorin, Nigeria; died September 11, 2021 in Birmingham) was the co-founder and chief technology officer of Analytical AI.

Odaibo, the son of Stephen Kirtsiner and Marie Boyowa Odaibo, grew up in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara in western Nigeria, and attended primary school and secondary school there. He and his younger brother Stephen came to Birmingham together in 1998 to study at UAB.

Odaibo earned his bachelor of science in electrical engineering in 2003 and went on to complete a master's in applied computer science at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. He returned to UAB for his Ph.D. in computer engineering, which he completed in 2019. That same year he was awarded "grand master" status in Google's "Kaggle" machine learning competitions.

Odaibo died unexpectedly in his sleep in September 2021. He was survived by his wife, Heather and two children.
