De Martenson

Eugene DeArmit "De" Martenson (born February 22, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts; died July 8, 2022) was a partner in the law firm of Huie Fernambucq & Stewart and a fellow of the Alabama Law Foundation.

Martenson was the son of Carl William Martenson and the former Eugenie DeArmit. His family moved to Tuscaloosa when he was a child and he graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1965. He completed his bachelor of arts at the University of Alabama in 1969 and a juris doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1971.

Martenson spent his entire career with Huie Fernambucq & Stewart and was also a lifelong member of the Alabama State Bar and Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for 37 years.

Martenson died in 2022. He was survived by his wife, Jane, two children and seven grandchildren.
