DeVinci's Italian Restaurant

Devinci's Pizza is a pizzeria and Italian restaurant opened in 1965 by Valley Forge, Pennsylvania native Fred Koetter at 2707 18th Street South in Homewood. A location near UAB at 1027 11th Place South was open in 1989. A second Homewood location was open for a while at 162 Oxmoor Road.

Devinci's pizza is a Sicilian-style thick-crust pan pizza loaded with toppings. The "World Famous Mona Lisa" is topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, ham, onions, black olives, green peppers, mushrooms and double cheese.

Devinci's was voted one of the top five pizza places in the 2004 Birmingham News "Primo Pizza" contest.

In April 2010 Devinci's began opening for breakfast after hiring former employees of Courtney's Restaurant, which closed abruptly a few weeks earlier.
