Ed Henson
Ed Henson (born May 27, 1942 in Clay County) is minister and accountant.
Henson graduated from Lineville High School. He served as a minister to the Vann Valley Assembly of God, Birmingham Christian Fellowship and the New Life Church and presented a Bible study program on WDJC-FM. He also owned a Lighthouse Christian Bookstore.
Henson earned an associate's degree from Jefferson State Community College in 1993 and a bachelor's degree in accounting at Birmingham-Southern College in 1995. He worked as an accountant for United Healthcare, as a senior auditor for the Jefferson County Assessor's Office, and as the county's Chief Deputy Tax Assessor before retiring. He ran unsuccessfully for Jefferson County Tax Assessor in the 2002 general election. Henson was one of five candidates to qualify in the 2010 Republican primary to fill the Jefferson County Commission District 4 seat left open when four-term incumbent and Commission President Bettye Fine Collins decided not to run for re-election.
Henson, who lives in Pinson, has two daughters, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
