Fledging
Fledging was a designer and seller of computer accessories, primarily high-speed solid-state memory used as external data storage or hardware upgrades. The company was founded in 2018 by Weida Tan and Steven Robbins, launching a Kickstarter campaign to raise funding for its first product, the "Feather SSD" replacement for Mac laptop hard drives. Fledging later expanded its offerings with multi-port charging hubs and cords, tablet cases, and SSD enclosures.
The company received investment capital from local groups including McKinney Capital, the Alabama Capital Network and Bronze Valley in 2019. Fledging was headquartered at the Innovation Depot and had officers working from Dallas, Texas and Shenzhen, China. In 2020 executive Ethan Summers was promoted to succeed Tan as CEO.
The company closed down at the end of 2022.
