The The Friends of Mountain Brook Villages is a group of Mountain Brook residents who oppose the proposed Lane Parke development.

The Friends group formed shortly before November 24, 2009, when the Mountain Brook City Council was originally scheduled to hold the final public hearing on the project. The hearing was later rescheduled. Prior to the original hearing date, the group commissioned a telephone survey performed by Larry Powell, a professor of communication studies at UAB. The poll of almost 700 Mountain Brook residents revealed approximately 60% were opposed to changing the areas zoning to allow the Lane Parke project. In addition, the group also claims to have collected over 400 signatures on a petition against the project.
