Fultondale Police Department

The Fultondale Police Department serves the City of Fultondale, north of Birmingham, with a 2020 census population of 9,284.

The department has 19 sworn officers, 15 of which serve in the patrol division under Lieutenant Mike Norris. Two city detectives and an information analyst comprise the Criminal Investigations Bureau. The Communications Division employs five members.

The department operates a fleet of eleven 1999 Ford Crown Victoria police cruisers and also owns two 2.5 ton military surplus trucks and an armored personnel carrier obtained through Federal redistribution programs. The department also leveraged Federal grant programs to upgrade its dispatch and booking systems with computer equipment and purchased a new radio system.
