George Griffin Brownell Jr (born April 4, 1912 in Tuscaloosa; died March 17, 2009 in Brevard, North Carolina) was the president and CEO of Brownell Travel for 45 years.

Brownell was the son of George and Jennie Brownell. He succeeded his father as president of the family's travel business in 1931. He served in U. S. Navy intelligence during World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster. After the war, he moved the company's offices to Birmingham, reincorporating it in 1946. He retired shortly after the company was bought by an investment group in 1989.

In retirement, Brownell and his wife, Susan made their residence in Brevard, North Carolina. They were active as leaders in the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment and in the Unitarian Universalist Church.

Brownell died in 2009. He was survived by his wife and daughter.
