Gettie Boyz Motorcycle Club

Gettie Boyz Motorcycle Club (sometimes called Getties Boyz) is a private motorcycle club and bar located at __ 22nd Street in Bessemer. It opened in 2004.

On July 2, 2010 an Alabama A&M University football player, Maurice Thomas, was killed in a shootout inside the club.

The Bessemer City Council discussed the possibility of closing the business shortly after Thomas' death, but took no action.

On July 16 the club was heavily damaged by fire.
