Howard Finch

Howard Finch (born c. 1960 in Dothan) was dean of the Brock School of Business at Samford University from 2011 to 2019. From 2019 to 2021 he served the school as senior associate provost. He continues to serve on the faculty of the school in the Sara J. Krawczak Chair in Financial Management and as professor of finance.

Finch grew up in Decatur, Georgia and earned his bachelor's in finance and economics from North Georgia College and State University. He went on to complete a master's in finance at Mercer University and a second master's and doctorate at the University of Alabama.

Finch spent two years as a financial consultant for Lehman Brothers in New York before returning to academia. He has taught at Alabama, the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, and Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, where he served as associate dean of the Lutgert College of Business. He came to Samford in July 2011.

Finch and his wife, Kathy, have two children, Ashley and Austin.
