Hugo Marx & Company, founded as Marx & Co. in 1900 by Hugo Marx, was an investment banking firm specializing in raising capital for municipal improvements.

The company was one of the original tenants in the Brown Marx Building (1906), but later moved to 711 29th Street South in Lakeview.

Although he passed the presidency to his son, Hugo Marx III, Hugo Marx Jr continued to work at the firm every day until its closed in January 2009, shortly before his death. Hugo Marx IV also worked as an associate with the firm, and Linda Marx worked as the company's receptionist.
