Jack Biddle
Jack Biddle III, (born February 7, 1930 in Birmingham; died February 18, 2024), was an Alabama State Senator and Representative for 30 years.
Biddle was a member of the Alabama Historical Society, the Alabama Archaeological Association, the Alabama Wildlife Federation, the UAB Department of Psychiatry Advisory Board, the Conservation and Natural Resources Advisory Board, the Jefferson County Coroner's Medical Examiners Board, and the Board of Trustees Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation.
He received a BS degree from Samford University and was a real estate broker and developer and was also an assistant to the CEO of Drummond Company.
On February 20, 2001 the portion of U.S. Highway 31 in northern Jefferson County extending from the southern boundary of the city of Gardendale north to the Blount/Jefferson County line was designated as Jack Biddle Highway in appreciation of Biddle’s exemplary service to the people of Alabama Senate District 17 and to the State of Alabama.
He and his wife, Nena, have two children, John and Carolyn.
