James Stiles

James P. Stiles (born April 27, 1860 in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi – ) was a Jefferson County Probate Court judge.

Stiles was educated at home and at Choctaw Agency, then studied at the Southwestern Baptist University in Jackson, Tennessee. After graduating from the law department at the University of Mississippi in 1881, Stiles moved to Birmingham to begin his practice. He was elected justice of the peace in 1884 and probate judge in 1898.

Stiles married the former Mary C. Porter, a judge's daughter, on November 30, 1886 and had four children.
