Jefferson County Jail

Jefferson County Jail can refer to a number of facilities used to house prisoners awaiting trial or sentencing in the Jefferson County Circuit Court. The jails have historically been connected to the courthouse building.

- Jefferson County Jail (4th Avenue), a brick jailhouse behind a 20-foot wall on the corner of 21st Street and 4th Avenue North, built along with the 1875 courthouse and maintained during the era of the 1889 courthouse, and then demolished in 1931 when the present Jefferson County Courthouse opened.
