John Cassimus is a retired metallurgical engineer and owner of the 2016 Morris Avenue building and it's antique peanut roasters.

Cassimus is the son of former Peanut Depot owner Alex Cassimus and grandson of its founder, D. J. Cassimus, an emmigrant from Greece. In 2016, after the current owner of Peanut Depot moved from the building, Cassimus opened Peanut Place and began looking for a new tenant. In 2018, he leased the building to the owners of Alabama Peanut Co..
