Katy Frierson

Mary Kathryn Frierson (born April 8, 1990) is a soccer player who played for Homewood High School and Auburn University. On January 13, 2012, she was the 10th overall pick in the 2nd round of the Women's Professional Soccer Draft, picked up by the Atlanta Beat.

While at Auburn, Frierson was a four-time First Team All-SEC selection and a two-time All-America selection. She is the all-time assists leader with 42, which also ranks fifth in SEC history, she also owns the school record in matches played (89), points (104) and game-winning goals (11), is second in matches started (86) and shots (228) and third in goals (31). She was a 2010 and 2011 Capital One Academic All-America, a 2011 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award First Team selection, the 2011 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the 2010 NSCAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Frierson was Auburn's second player to be drafted into the WPS, behind Allison Whitworth, a 2009 8th-round WPS Draft pick.
