Ken Wallis

Ken Wallis (born c. 1942) was an attorney, insurance executive, and legal advisor to Governors George Wallace and Bob Riley.

Wallis, a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, was working in private practice in Birmingham when Wallace asked him to join his staff as a legal advisor for his fourth term in 1982. Afterward he became general counsel, vice president of operations, and chief operating officer for Alfa Corporation and the Alfa Insurance Group. After leaving Alfa, he became a partner in the Montgomery firm of Capell and Howard.

Wallis returned to Montgomery as Director of Legislative Affairs for Riley's staff, and became Legal Advisor again when Troy King was appointed Attorney General. During his career, Wallis earned high marks for his calm under fire. Wallis retired in 2010. He and his wife, Bonnie, have a house at Lake Martin, and also own a farm in Perry County. They have three sons and two grandsons.
