Kevin Peterson

Kevin Peterson (born c. 1985 in Germany), also known as the1janitor or T1J, is a social media influencer with more than 297,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel.

Peterson moved to Ensley with his mother and two younger brothers in 1993. He spent a lot of time making comics-inspired drawings and took art classes at Ramsay High School. After graduating he enrolled at University of Alabama as an art student, but found he was more interested in creative writing and literature.

Peterson began sharing videos while still in college in 2008. He began pursuing YouTube as his primary source of income after being laid off from a call center job in 2013. In 2016 he began focusing more on social justice topics, coinciding with the spread of the "Black Lives Matter" movement.
