Kumar (born April 20, 1999 at the Cincinnati Zoo; died March 9, 2018 at the Birmingham Zoo) was a male Malayan tiger (Panthera tigris jacksoni) on exhibit at the Birmingham Zoo. He came to Birmingham from Cincinnati on June 19, 2001.
In March 2017 Kumar was diagnosed with malignant sarcoma. A tumor was removed from his right hip. He later suffered from kidney failure. Kumar was euthanized in March 2018. His exhibit area was subsequently used to exhibit a pair of white storks, and later for the zoo's African lions Kwanzaa and Akili.
