Kyle Mabrey

Kyle Mabrey (born July 23, 1974; died February 19, 2017 in Bessemer) was a professional bass fisherman.

Mabrey graduated from Hueytown High School and studied at UAB. He worked as a respiratory therapist at Children's Hospital while participating on the FLW and BASS professional fishing tours. He also co-founded Yellow Hammer Lures.

Mabrey was killed when his Chevrolet Tahoe ran off of I-459 and plunged into a lowered Norfolk Southern Railway corridor near the McCalla Bible Church. He was thrown from the vehicle when an oncoming train struck the boat he was hauling.

Mabrey was survived by his wife, Beth and two children.
