1910 Birmingham homicides

This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 1910. It includes homicide cases occurring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that not all homicides are ultimately ruled to be murder in courts of law.

According to Kenneth Barnhart's survey of Jefferson County Board of Health statistics, Birmingham had 111 homicides in 1910, a rate of 83.0 per 100,000 population. Of those, 34 victims were white (42.0 per 100,000) and 77 were Black (146.1 per 100,000).

Listing

• September 25: George Moment was shot to death at 23rd Avenue North and 26th Street. Tom Finch was arrested at the scene and claimed that Moment had threatened his life with an axe. The coroner held an inquest.
• December 31: Wade Hughes was shot to death by a butler while attempting to enter the home of Catherine Erswell at 909 21st Street South. (report)
