List of dog parks

This is a list of dog parks, designated areas for off-leash dogs to play and socialize, in the Birmingham area:

George Ward Park in Birmingham added a 2.6-acre dog park area on October 17, 2009.
Loch Haven Park in Hoover dedicated a 2-acre dog park in 2010, with a $25,000 ADECA grant.
Bark Park, a 1½–2 acre dog park adjoining Fultondale's Children's Park, opened in May 2011.
A 1-acre off-leash park designed by Jenny Wilson, executive director of the Shelby Humane Society, was built at Veterans Park in Alabaster with $500,000 in prize money from the 2011 "Beneful Dream Dog Park" contest. It opened on July 12, 2012
The Grants Mill Station shopping center in Irondale includes a city-funded dog park, announced in December 2012.
The privately-owned 6.5 acre Cahaba Beach Dog Park in North Shelby County opened in 2012.
"Remy's Dog Park" at Red Mountain Park, funded by a $200,000 grant from the CFGB, was announced in June 2013.
The dog park at the Clemons Recreational Complex in Gardendale was dedicated on November 29, 2017.
The Cahaba Dog Park in Trussville opened February 14, 2018.
The Barks & Recreation Dog Park in Pelham was dedicated on September 30, 2018.

Proposed parks

Homewood is in the early stages of planning for a dog park. A proposed 2½ acre parcel at Patriot Park was not approved by the parks board in February 2011; alternate proposals and sites are being considered.
