This is a List of homicides in 1959. Note that a "homicide" refers to the cause of death as determined by a medical examiner, not to the crime of murder as charged by prosecutors and determined by plea or trial.
Etowah County
- June 28: The body of Lee Harper, 55, was found near Attalla. He had been shot in the face and later dismembered. His neighbor and former girlfriend Viola Hyatt confessed to his murder after questioning. She was convicted in 1960 on two counts of murder and given two life sentences. She served 10 years at Tutwiler State Prison before being paroled in April 1970. She died in 2000.
