Liz Cochran

Liz Cochran (born c. 1989) was Miss Hoover and Miss Alabama 2009.

Cochran is the daughter of Phil and Laura Cochran. She grew up in Helena and graduated from Pelham High School where her mother is the dance team sponsor. She has been dancing since age 3 and recently founded a hip-hop dance group at First Baptist Church of Pelham. She has organized a dance showcase at her former high school to benefit the American Heart Association and written a children's book about cardiac health. She is currently a dance and pre-med major at Birmingham-Southern College.

She competed in her third Miss Alabama competition after winning the Miss Hoover preliminary competition. For the talent competition, Cochran danced to "He Lives in You" from the musical The Lion King, wearing an animal print costume that she and her mother designed together. Her pageant platform is "With Every Beat: Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease". Her interest in studying medicine was inspired in part by fellow Pelham graduate and Miss Alabama Deidre Downs.
