MAX Transit Route 93

MAX Transit Route 93 (the Lakeview Local) is a bus route serviced by the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority from Parkside to Lakeview. Weekday and Saturday service on the route is from 11:00 AM to 11:55 PM, with buses at 20-minute intervals before 2:00 PM (4:00 PM on Saturdays) and at 40-minute intervals thereafter. The later routes are extended to include stops at UAB, Five Points South and Avondale. Notably, Route 93 makes stops at Good People Brewing Company, Ghost Train Brewing Co., Trim Tab Brewing, Avondale Brewing Company and Cahaba Brewing Company.

Outbound from 1st Avenue South at Railroad Park, the route proceeds east to 18th Street South, then jogs down to 2nd Avenue South in order to continue eastward to 29th Street South. From 5th Avenue South the outbound route begins a loop back to 23rd Street South, and returns to 29th via 7th Avenue South. From 29th it retraces its route back to Parkside continuing as far as 13th Avenue South and then looping around Block 128 to return to Railroad Park. On Saturdays during Pepper Place Market season the route turns at 28th Street South instead of 29th Street before 1:00 PM.

The afternoon/evening route continues on 18th Street South as far as University Boulevard, then zig-zags toward Five Points South via 11th Avenue South. It returns northward on 20th Street South to 4th Avenue South until turning again at 27th Street South to continue on 7th Avenue South through Lakeview. At 32nd Street South the route jogs back to 4th, turns again on 36th Street South to pick up 3rd Avenue South, continuing east as far as 44th Street South. On the return trip it retraces its route, using 3rd Avenue instead of 4th Avenue.
