Marcia Henderson

Marcia Henderson is an educator.

Henderson received her bachelor's of science degree in elementary education from Miles College, her masters in elementary education from Alabama State University, and an education specialist degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham and holds a masters degree in instructional leadership.

She taught fourth grade at Barrett Elementary School, fifth grade at Going Elementary School, before transferring to Wenonah Elementary School to become a reading coach. She then worked for the Alabama State Department of Education as a regional trainer for the Alabama Reading Initiative, spending 13 years implementing coaching and professional development for teachers.

In 2006 Henderson returned to Birmingham City Schools as the assistant principal of Ossie Ware Mitchell Middle School. In 2018 she was named principal at Robinson Elementary School.
